With more than a decade of experience in business development in the tourism and construction sectors, Juan Marín currently brings his expertise to Biotonomy as Director of Business Development. His work focuses on the design and implementation of nature-based solutions for urban and tourist environments, combining green infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and urban regeneration.
He is noted for his participation in pioneering projects such as Biotonomy's “Tree Hub,” a mobile urban furniture that integrates vertical gardens, shade, WiFi connectivity, sensors, and charging capabilities for devices—a solution designed for destinations where active tourism and outdoor experiences require smart infrastructure. Its strategic approach allows it to connect innovation, sustainability, and value creation in coastal tourist destinations, positioning it as a relevant player in the field of the blue economy applied to tourism, urban regeneration, and the active visitor experience.

Climate adaptation and water efficiency in destinations under pressure.
This panel will address how tourism is responding to growing water stress, especially in coastal and island areas, through efficiency, digitalization, and resilience. Cases studies of hotels, municipalities, and technological solutions linked to the PERTE water program will be presented, in line with European climate objectives. The main structural and regulatory challenges that hinder sustainable water management in tourist destinations will also be analyzed.
