Jesús Enrique Argente

Researcher and Doctor at the University of Murcia. B-Blue Project, Interreg MED

Marine biologist and doctor in marine and coastal socio-ecological systems, with a special focus on the influence of digitalization on the blue economy sectors in the Mediterranean. He conducts his research at the University of Murcia (UMU), where he works on issues related to sustainability, governance, and innovation in marine-coastal environments.

He also teaches on the Master's Degree in Protected Areas and Biodiversity and the Master's Degree in Fisheries Resources and Aquaculture at the University of Murcia, contributing to the training of specialists in conservation, environmental management, and the sustainable use of marine and coastal resources.

He has participated in numerous national and international projects related to the blue economy, including ThinkInAzul (https://thinkinazul.es/),2 B-BLUE (https://2b-blue.interreg-euro-med.eu/), App Lonja 2.0 (https://www.um.es/web/gtc-economia-azul/proyectos/app-lonja-2.0), DIGIPESCA (https://digipesca.webs.upv.es/), and TOKENCO2 (https://www.um.es/web/gtc-economia-azul/proyectos/tokenco2). In these projects, he has worked on improving governance, internationalization, and cooperation in strategic sectors of the marine environment, always from a social, environmental, and digital perspective.

His research and professional work focuses on promoting sustainability and digitization in the blue economy, fostering innovation, cooperation between territories, and the application of technological tools that contribute to more efficient, equitable, and resilient management of marine and coastal ecosystems. Promoting work for a sustainable and fair blue economy for local communities.
