With extensive experience in the Army, Javier Mackinlay de Castilla currently commands the 3rd Legion and heads the La Desértica Sports Club, organizer of one of the most iconic and demanding sporting events in Almería.
Throughout his career, he has stood out for his leadership skills, team management in complex environments, and coordination of large-scale events. His work at the helm of La Desértica has helped to consolidate this competition as a national benchmark for endurance sports, while also promoting Almería as a prime destination for active tourism. His strategic vision and close ties to the region make him a key player in promoting sporting activities that generate social, economic, and tourist value in the province.
