Jaime Martínez
Mayor of Palma de Mallorca
Jaime Martínez Llabrés is a Spanish architect and politician, currently serving as Mayor of Palma de Mallorca since June 2023. He holds a degree in Architecture from the Technical School of Architecture of Barcelona and began his professional career with his own studio, specializing in projects related to the tourism and urban sectors.
In the political sphere, he has held various positions in local and regional government, including Director General of Territorial Planning, Tourism, and Commerce in Calvià, and Minister of Tourism and Sports in the Government of the Balearic Islands. He served as President of the Popular Party of Palma and led the political project that brought him to the mayoralty after the 2023 municipal elections.
As mayor, his administration focuses on improving urban cleanliness, strengthening public safety, and advancing sustainable mobility, while also promoting housing policies such as the construction of 1,200 social housing units and key initiatives like the Metropolitan Forest and a historic reduction in local taxes.
