Fabián Ben
Proyect Manager at the National Federation of Fishermen’s Guilds of Spain (FNCP)
He works at the intersection of the blue economy, sectoral governance, and coastal territorial development, promoting innovation and cooperation between the fishing sector, public administrations, science, and environmental organizations. In his role as Director of Projects and Innovation at the National Federation of Fishermen's Guilds (FNCP), he promotes initiatives aimed at strengthening the social, cultural, and economic value of inshore and artisanal fishing in the context of the blue transition, incorporating an eco-social perspective that articulates the economic sustainability of the sector, territorial well-being, and the conservation of marine biodiversity.
Trained at the SDA Bocconi School of Management (Milan), he brings an interdisciplinary perspective that connects coastal identity, marine sustainability, and applied innovation. He participates in technical and sectoral coordination spaces and develops projects that address real challenges in the fishing sector and coastal territories, on the path towards a more balanced and sustainable blue economy.

Description
This session, organized by the General Secretariat for Fisheries of the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food, seeks to place fishing at the center of Spain's tourism, cultural, and territorial narrative. Through a multidisciplinary round table, fishing will be addressed not only as a productive activity, but also as living heritage, its role in shaping coastal towns, its gastronomic contribution, and its evolution towards sustainability. There will be a discussion on how to strengthen the link between the fishing and tourism sectors, with a special focus on sustainability, digitalization, and the promotion of fishing heritage as an experience, a history, and an identity.
