BC06 · Blue Tech and Digital Marine Governance
To manage the sea effectively, we must first understand it. This roundtable will bring together coastal municipalities, technology companies, and international networks to discuss how innovation and cross-border cooperation are enabling us to map, model, and anticipate the behavior of the marine environment through advanced sensor technology, artificial intelligence, and maritime spatial planning (MSP).
In a context where the coastline is used for multiple purposes—tourism, fishing, maritime transport, environmental conservation—having real-time data, predictive models, and interoperable platforms has become key to making more accurate decisions at the local level, but with a global vision. This session will present international and national use cases, including smart buoys, digital twins, satellites, and coastal flow analysis systems, as well as examples of multilevel governance connecting municipalities, regions, states, and the European Union.
