Amal Louis
Director of Development and Intermodal Solutions at Port of Marseille
Amal Louis is an expert in the maritime sector with 22 years' experience. She holds an Executive MBA from ESSEC & Mannheim University 2017, as well as a master’s in marketing & management from the Institut Supérieur des Cadres de Vente (CNAM).
Her professional career began with the shipping company Marfret, where she held strategic Line Manager positions, with a focus on the operation of vessels deployed on the Short Sea intra-Europe and Mediterranean, as well as project development.
Amal has also been heavily involved in the sector's representative bodies. She served as president of the Association des Agents et Consignataires de Navires du port de Fos-Marseille for 5 years, then as vice-president at national level of the AMCF (Association des Mandataires Consignataires de France) for 2 years. She sat on the Development Council of the Grand Port Maritime
de Marseille (GPMM) and on the Supervisory Board of MGI (Marseille Gyptis International) for 5 years.
Since March 2023, Amal Louis has been Director of Commercial Development and Intermodal Solutions at the Grand Port Maritime de Marseille-Fos. Today, her ambition is following the Port of Marseille Fos authority’ strategy the Port of Marseille Fos: developing all industrial projects generating maritime flows as part of the energy transition.

The goal of this event is to explore opportunities and challenges in the Mediterranean region for Europe and its ports, and to discuss how the European Global Gateway strategy can help shaping the future of this area. We are already counting on the participation of several leading Mediterranean ports, ESPO members, and the European Commission. It would be an honor to enrich the panel with your experience and insights.
The session will focus on:
- Port-led decarbonisation (OPS/shore power, alternative fuels and bunkering readiness).
- Resilient and interoperable maritime logistics linking EU and Southern Neighbourhood value chains
- Blue-economy growth through innovation, skills and sustainable coastal development.
