José García

President of the Port Authority of Motril

Technical Architect, University of Granada (1986). With extensive experience in the private sector (1986–2007), he has led architecture and urban planning firms, managed companies, and worked as a judicial expert and appraiser.

In the public sphere, he has served as First Deputy Mayor of Motril City Council, President of the Association of Municipalities of the Costa Tropical, and head of several local public companies, as well as member of the Commission on Security and Citizen Coexistence of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP).

Since March 2019, he has been President of the Port Authority of Motril, where he promotes the modernization and sustainability of the port, its integration with the city, and the development of cruise tourism. He has been recognized as a Distinguished Alumni by the University of Granada and awarded the Naval Merit Cross with White Distinction for his support of the Spanish Navy.
