The Tourism Fair, FITUR 2023, has been the stage chosen to present the Sun&Blue Congress project, which will be held at Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos of Almería next autumn. The event was attended by the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport of Andalusia, Arturo Bernal; the territorial delegate, José Ángel Vélez; as well as the president of the Provincial Council of Almería, Javier Aureliano García, and the mayor of Almería, María del Mar Vázquez.

The Tourism Fair, FITUR 2023, has been the stage chosen to present the Sun&Blue Congress project, which will be held at Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos of Almería next autumn. The event was attended by the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport of Andalusia, Arturo Bernal; the territorial delegate, José Ángel Vélez; as well as the president of the Provincial Council of Almería, Javier Aureliano García, and the mayor of Almería, María del Mar Vázquez.

 

Sun&Blue Congress will bring together in the capital of Almeria professionals of sun and beach tourism in the framework of the blue economy, with the digitization of the sector as a central axis. 

 

For Arturo Bernal, "the fact that this congress will be held in Almería is a clear example of the support that the tourism sector gives to this province, the catalyst of a wide range of proposals, thanks to a unique coastline". The Minister of Tourism of Andalusia stressed "the importance of holding such events that show how the tourism sector is reinvented with new actions and the premise of sustainability as a key element".

 

For his part, the president of the Provincial Council of Almería, Javier A. Garcia, explained that thanks to this congress, the province of Almeria will receive great professionals in the Tourism of Sun and Beach to share experiences and debate about the present and future challenges of the 7,905 kilometers of coast in Spain and the inland beaches of fresh water: "Almería will witness a congress that will mark the way to follow in the coming years with the aim of promoting one of our greatest natural treasures, the beaches and the most important sector of the country, tourism".

 

The mayor of Almería, María del Mar Vázquez, has participated in this presentation, highlighting "the importance that this congress to be held in Almeria, a city that advocates to invest and boost its beaches reaching the highest possible excellence, and betting on new technologies, as well as the sustainability of these." Vázquez added that it is an "innovative and very specialized congress that will give rise to interesting reflections and updates of this tourist model, which wants to bet on an intelligent and sustainable coastline, able to offer information and services to the tourist and the visitor".
