Gonzalo La Rosa
Vice President at the Ibero-American Network of Smart Tourist Destinations
Gonzalo Alfredo La Rosa is the Executive Director of the Cities of the Future Institute (ICF) and the FIWARE iHub in Argentina. He is the founder and Vice President of the Ibero-American Network of Smart Tourist Destinations and the founder of the Argentine Network of Smart Tourist Destinations. He serves as Co-Chair of the global network of FIWARE iHubs and coordinates the working group on “Data Models, Semantics, and Ontology in Tourism” within the Ibero-American Network of Smart Tourist Destinations. He is also the promoter and coordinator of the working group on “Smart Data Models for Smart Destinations” at the FIWARE Foundation and coordinates the International Fair of Smart Destinations.
Additionally, he is the coordinator of the “Brazil DTI Strategy” project, which includes a component on Data Models and Tourist Intelligence Systems and digital twins for ten destinations. He served as the Secretary of Studies for the IRAM 42.101 Standard, which outlines “Requirements for Smart Tourist Destination Management Systems.” He has improved data management systems for decision-making in the format of Tourist Intelligence Systems or digital twins, notably for destinations such as Medellín, Posadas, Curitiba, Foz do Iguaçu, Gramado, Bonito, Fortaleza, Santos, among others. He has also worked in over 30 destinations to support their transformation into Smart Tourist Destinations (DTI), focusing on implementing the DTI model and technological solutions to calculate indicators for decision-making. Among the destinations he has worked with are Rio de Janeiro, Brasília, Curitiba, Salvador, Posadas, Chascomús, and Angra dos Reis.
He is a member of the ISO WD 20525 working group on “Semantics Applied to Tourism Destinations” as an international expert.
