Gerardo Landaluce
President at the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras
Bachelor of Law from the University of Granada. Master’s in International Management from ESADE Business School in Barcelona. Diploma in Senior Management of Leading Companies and Institutions (ADEL) from San Telmo Business School.
In 1991, he joined the Banco Español de Crédito (BANESTO) in Miami and New York, where he developed his professional career and was later appointed Vice President of Private Banking in the international area.
In 1996, he joined the Port Authority of the Bay of Algeciras (APBA), taking on responsibilities in strategy, business development, commercial, and communication. Until his current appointment as President in 2019, he served as Deputy General Director of Development and Commercial at APBA, a member of its Management Committee, and the Navigation and Port Council of the Port of the Bay of Algeciras.
In 2010, he joined the European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO), participating in the Intermodal, Logistics, and Industry Committee. Currently, he is involved in the Port Governance and Management Committee.
He is the Vice President of the Mediterranean Ports Association (MEDports). The association is made up of nearly 30 members from all shores of the Mediterranean, representing 70% of cargo traffic and 90% of passenger traffic.
He is the President of the SUNCRUISE Andalucía Association, which includes all State-owned Ports of General Interest in Andalusia—Algeciras, Almería, Cádiz, Huelva, Málaga, Motril (Granada), Seville—and the Public Ports Agency of Andalusia (APPA), as well as the Port of Ceuta and the Port of Melilla. The association aims to promote Andalusia and the Alboran Sea as a destination for cruises and water sports. SUNCRUISE develops and promotes various actions to enhance the tourism, nautical, and cruise industry.
He is a teaching collaborator for the Master’s in Maritime-Port Management at the University of Cádiz and the Master’s in Port and Intermodal Management and Planning at the Port Campus of Puertos del Estado.
He is a regular speaker at conferences and seminars in the maritime-port and logistics sector at the national and international levels.
He has been recognized by security forces: Police Merit Cross with White Distinction from the National Police Corps (September 2021) and Cross with White Distinction of the Order of Merit from the Civil Guard (September 2021).
