Antonio Bayo

Head of the Planning Area at the Port Authority of Almería

Antonio Bayo is a Civil Engineer specializing in Roads, Canals, and Ports from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. His academic background also includes a Master's degree in Coastal Engineering from the University of Cantabria, as well as doctoral courses and research proficiency from the same university, in addition to a Port Management program at IESE Business School through the University of Navarra.

He has been a Career Civil Servant of the Corps of Civil Engineers for Roads, Canals, and Ports of the State. From 1989 to 1998, he was affiliated with the Ministry of Public Works as Head of the Projects and Works Section in the Coastal Demarcation of Andalusia-Atlantic, Head of the Projects and Works Service for the Provincial Coastal Service of Almería, and Provincial Head of Coasts in Almería. He also served as a State representative on the Provincial Urban Planning Commission of Almería (1991-1993) and on the Governing Board of the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park (1996-1997). In 1998, he was appointed Head of Planning for the Port Authority of Almería, and since 2023, he has served as Head of the Planning Area for the Port Authority of Almería.
