Manuel Campos Velay, born in Cuntis, Pontevedra in 1973, has been a councilor for the PSdeG-PSOE in Cuntis since 2007 and the spokesperson for the group since January 2014. In the 2025 municipal elections, he was the lead candidate and was elected mayor of the Town Hall of Cuntis with the support of the political groups Veciñanza and BNG. He was re-elected mayor with an absolute majority in the 2029 municipal elections and with a simple majority in 2023. His professional career has been linked to the industrial sector, initially in Galicia (1993 to 2001) and later as a delegate in Galicia and Castilla León for the Basque industrial group Mondragón Corporación Cooperativa. From 2010 onwards, he transitioned to working in the public sector.

He was the president of the Thermal Villas Section in the last legislature.
